Confusion mars origin of the viral challenge on social media.
Was it Turkish women or a Brazilian woman or it’s women celebrities’ behind the popular black and white challenge on social sites?
Or does anyone care really about its origin?
Women (and to some fair extent, men) have, for a while now, been posting filtered black and white pictures of themselves on their pages in an acknowledgement of a nudge by a friend to do so.
So who started it and why?
Sorry, but no one seems to have an answer to this yet.
The New York Times is reporting that a Brazilian journalist by the name Brazilian journalist Ana Paula Padrão was the first to post a black and white picture on her Instagram page (https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2020/07/27/style/challenge-accepted-instagram.amp.html)
The Times also says Turkish women picked it the last week to raise issues over violence against women.
For now, no one can, for sure, pinpoint who is behind it but in Kenya who cares?
